Global Outreach (GO)
The Global Outreach (GO) Team, previously named the Missions Team, at Hope Community Church has prayerfully taken steps to re-shape and re-focus its vision in order to be more effective and have more impact with the mission work our church supports. The team bases its work in Scripture: Matt 28:19 “go and make disciples, baptizing and teaching everything He has commanded us to do.” Acts 1:8 “ we are to be His witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.”
Developing and Maintaining
Two-way partnerships with missionaries & organizations in order to support and serve the local, regional, national, & international regions.
Opportunities for people at Hope Community Church to have active participation in and support for these partnerships through prayer, short-term mission trips, and donations.
Educational strategies avenues to clearly communicate the purpose, meaning, and strategies of missions/missionaries
Partnerships
The Global Outreach (GO) team is working to build two-way partnerships with missionaries & organizations supported by Hope Community Church. A two-way partnership would be ongoing and afford the body of believers at Hope Community the opportunity to support the partnership through prayer, financial gifts, short-term mission trips, and special projects. It would afford the partnership the opportunity to clearly communicate to our church body what God is doing through the organization and let our church know how we could best help meet the ministry need. The GO Team is striving to create an opportunity for the partnership and our church to work together in Jesus’ name as a team.
The partnerships selected by the Global Outreach (GO) Team have filled out an application for support and have expressed an interest in building a two-way partnership with the believers at Hope Community Church. A yearly commitment is made. Any additional partnerships for the 2007 calendar year will be decided at the team’s meeting on May 6. The GO Team will make a special effort to balance local, regional, and international areas. The partnerships selected for 2007 as of April 29 include:
Local
Pregnancy Care Center of the Merrimack Valley and So. NH.
Our contact is Mary McCarthy.
This is how Pregnancy Care Center describes itself: “A Christ-centered ministry offering life-affirming services designed to empower women and men in making informed choices about unexpected pregnancy, sexual integrity, and recovery from post abortion trauma.”
contact is Marlene Yeo.
This ministry meets local needs, providing food, clothes, and a message of hope to many. It is also a street church ministering the gospel, and it is a ministry with a big vision for meeting local needs.
Our contact is Doug Gregan.
New Brothers Fellowship (NBF) assists men, who become believers inside of prison, to “plug in” to the body of Christ on the outside of prison. It provides encouragement and support to put faith into practice.
The Pettengill House and the Hugh Doyle Resource Center
Our contact is Deborah Smith.
The Pettengill House and the Hugh Doyle Resource Center's purpose is "to support, empower, and coordinate community and state services, provide basic needs, emergency assistance, prevention education, case management and supports to those in need."
Regional
Our contact is David M. Midwood.
Vision New England equips the body of Christ in many ways. Their mission is intentional evangelism: “the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole New England region.” Pastors and church leaders receive training, resources, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
The Vision ONE (Outreach New England) process cultivates a culture of evangelism in the local church. Their prison ministries provide a gospel preaching presence in every correctional facility in New England
International
Our contact is Rachel Simons.
Rachel works with adolescent girls in Romania at their Community Center, and with youth who live on the streets in Galati. She writes: “We are a staff of 9 Americans and 12 Romanians serving among 50 youth and children each day.”
Our contacts are Doug and Suzie Stoddard.
Doug and Suzie work with children in the Ukraine. Doug is studying the Ukrainian language. He says: “I am also continuing to build relationships with the orphanage in Komarivka (children and staff). We are teaching a Life Skills Class to the 8th and 9th Grade classes each Monday. We are also planning and providing outreach programs throughout the year.”
Our contacts are Rod and Melanie Schaubroeck.
Rod says that he is: “currently the Curriculum and Personnel Coordinator for TIMO, an organization within AIM. TIMO stands for Training in Ministry Outreach. It is a two-year training program for new missionaries which focuses on living among un-reached people groups, learning their language, building relationships and planting churches in those communities.”
